Sol 1438: Mast-Mounted Navigation Camera, Cylindrical Perspective

NASA's Mars rover Curiosity took 27 image pairs in Gale Crater using its mast-mounted Navigation Camera (Navcam) to create this mosaic. The seam-corrected mosaic provides a 360-degree cylindrical perspective projection panorama of the Martian surface suitable for stereo viewing, centered at 30 degrees azimuth (measured clockwise from north). This anaglyph must be viewed with red/blue glasses (red over left eye).  Curiosity took the images on August 23, 2016, Sol 1438 of the Mars Science Laboratory mission at drive 774, site number 57. The local mean solar time for the image exposures was 12 PM. Each Navcam image has a 45-degree field of view. CREDIT: NASA/JPL-Caltech
