NGC 1300: A Hubble Image Tour
NGC 1300 is a barred spiral galaxy. In a barred spiral, the galaxy’s arms connect to the ends of a straight bar of stars that contains the galaxy’s nucleus. Recent evidence suggests that our Milky Way Galaxy may be a barred spiral.
Explore the science along with the scenery – Image Tours show Hubble pictures through an astronomer's eyes, pinpointing and explaining key features to add understanding to the joy of cosmic sightseeing.
