The NASA Earth Action Disasters program area advances science to reduce disaster impacts on lives, livelihoods, and critical systems. By enabling science-informed decision-making, the program reduces risk, strengthens response, and supports recovery and long-term resilience in the U.S. and around the world. The Disasters Program supports insurance and financial sectors, emergency managers, and lifeline sectors (e.g., transportation, energy, communication) seeking to ensure greater resilience in their management of hazards.
