The Landsat 9 Thermal Infrared Sensor 2 (TIRS-2) team at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) has successfully completed their Instrument Critical Design Review (ICDR).

The review was held February 21-23 at NASA/GSFC, and was paneled by an independent group of technical experts.

“The TIRS-2 team did an excellent job presenting a well thought out instrument design,” said Landsat 9 Project Manager, Del Jenstrom.

The review panel gave high praise to the TIRS-2 team for their work to finalize the instrument design and mitigate risks.

The panel identified no issues that would impede continuation of the TIR-2 instrument fabrication.

A big congratulations to the TIRS-2 team!
