NASA's Psyche mission launched on a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket from Launch Complex 39A, Kennedy Space Center in Florida, at 10:19 a.m. EDT on Friday, Oct. 13, 2023. It was scheduled to launch the day before, at 10:16 a.m. EDT, but was delayed due to unfavorable weather conditions. If it had been delayed further, the mission had additional launch opportunities each day through Oct. 25. Each opportunity is instantaneous, meaning there is only one exact time per day when launch could occur.

Psyche is the first mission to a metal-rich asteroid, which is also named Psyche.
